Celiac Disease Could Affect You

Short Celiac Disease Article

I gained an interest in nutrition at a young age while growing up on a farm where they grew organic, home-grown fruits and vegetables.

In the past half of a century, there have been a growing number of people with autoimmune disorders, and the number of autoimmune diseases has increased to more than 80 at this time.

Celiac disease, also known as coeliac disease, celiac sprue, or gluten sensitive enteropathy (GSE), is another type of common autoimmune disorder. Usually passed on genetically, it is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients. In the US, about 1 in 130 people have, or show signs of, celiac disease, but there could be many more than that.

An autoimmune disorder is from a breakdown in cellular communication. When an animal or person has an autoimmune disorder, it simply means that their own cells fail to recognize their cells as "self". Of course, this is not normal, and results in an immune response against their own cells.

Types of Celiac Disease

Celiac disease has now been categorized into 4 main classes according to the NIH consensus conference.

1. Classical celiac disease includes those symptoms commonly associated with the disease in the past, diarrhea, bloating, abdominal pain, and weight loss.

2. Celiac disease with atypical symptoms includes those extra intestinal symptoms of osteoporosis, neurological involvement, and little or no abdominal symptoms.

3. Silent celiac disease includes those individuals who are asymptomatic yet have both positive serology and biopsy.

4. Latent celiac disease includes positive serology and negative biopsy, but may later present with positive symptoms or intestinal changes.

How To Create Multiple Income Streams From Your Website

Creating multiple income streams from your website is a proven marketing strategy. An effective strategy anyone can use to earn a part-time or full-time online income. If you are not currently earning revenue from your site, you could be leaving significant amounts of cash floating in cyberspace.

Significant amounts of cash that can help pay your monthly bills: your rent or mortgage, your car payments, your utility bills or even your hosting costs. Many alert webmasters are doing just that by creating multiple income streams from their site or sites.

Creating these multiple income streams is not a difficult task. Nor is it a lengthy or time consuming one; monetizing your site can be done within a few hours of work.

Here are some effective ways of creating multiple income streams:

* 1. Affiliate Programs

Joining affiliate programs related to your site is an easy process. Placing html code or java script on your site with your affiliate IDs embedded only takes seconds. I find joining major affiliate networks like Commission Junction, LinkShare, Amazon, ClickBank, Shareasale... to be the most effective. You can quickly find and join affiliate programs related to your site's topics.

Affiliate programs are excellent income producers, all you have to do is supply the traffic or leads and the affiliate company does the selling, shipping and handles all customer interactions. These programs pay on time each month and there are no disputes about commissions. Amazon pays quarterly!

* 2. Google Adsense

Perhaps one of the easiest way to monetize your site is through Google Adsense. All you have to do is add a snippet of code to your site and Google serves up ads to match your site's content. Getting those checks from Google each month will put a smile on your face. Guaranteed!

* 3. Sponsored Links

Another simple way to earn revenue from your site is offering sponsored links. Selling links to other sites who want to be listed on your site. Set up a PayPal subscription service, and if your site has a high PR page rank you will have plenty of webmasters more than willing to pay you each month.

* 4. Banner Advertising

A simple, direct way to earn revenue from your site is to host and sell banner advertising on your site. Bit traditional but still a money producer for high traffic volume sites.

* 5. List Building

Building an opt-in list of contacts interested in the topic of your site can be one of your most effective income producers. Many webmasters and marketers use followup e-mails to keep in contact with their site's visitors. This does require some work and set-up time, but once you have your autoresponders in place, you can forget about them.

In addition, marketing special deals, joint ventures and offers to your permission based email contact list can be another lucrative income stream for you. That's just five ways to create multiple income streams from your site. There are many, many more but these are good starting points for any webmaster who wants to monetize their site or sites.

* Additional Marketing Tip

Here's my #1 marketing strategy on how to increase your number of income streams:

I use the Long Tail keyword marketing model to create high ranked keyword listings in organic search for profitable keyword phrases on the topics of my sites. First, I use a keyword research tool like Brad Callen's Keyword Elite or an online site Yahoo's Overture to find profitable keyword phrases for my sites.

These tools will tell you how many searches are made each month for a given keyword phrase and also tell you how much marketers are willing to pay for each click to this keyword phrase - as in PPC or Pay Per Click advertising.

The trick is to find low to mid-range keywords or keywords phrases that are profitable but have little competition. Then design a content page on your site to target these keyword phrases and draw in traffic. I use keyword targeted articles which I place on my site and also submit to online article directories like Ezinearticles, Goarticles, Articlealley, among others.

In the resource box at the end of each article, I place my keyword anchor text and links back to my site. As these are competitively low ranked keywords, my content pages usually land on the top positions in the search engines for my targeted keywords within a week or so.

This is a simple effective marketing strategy that feeds targeted traffic into my sites, making them more profitable with each keyword phrase I develop content for on my sites. It is an online marketing strategy that you can also use to booster your multiple income streams from your own website.

Granted, all the above information comes with a disclaimer, the amount of income will usually correlate to how effective you are at marketing your site and how much traffic you can generate. Your different abilities will play a large role in how much you will earn. However, there is no reason why any healthy site getting a decent amount of traffic can't be used to create multiple streams of income. Just cash in!

How To Avoid Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement is not an easy thing to explain. While it may seem as simple as not using someone elses work, its not that easy. Thanks to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and many other organizations, we have the ability to use others works -- as long as we use it under Fair Use laws. So what does Fair Use have to do with copyright infringement, and how can you utilize it?

Fair Use laws allow us to use a copyrighted work without having to pay someone royalties. This includes using a copyrighted work for educational or instructional uses, criticism of the work, commentaries on the work, news reporting about the work, teaching on the work (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship uses, and research. This is talked about fully in Section 107 of the Copyright Code (commonly called Fair Use) and is available for you to read at your local library.

Copyright Infringement in day-to-day life

Sometimes, if youre writing a paper for work or school, or if you are creating a Power Point presentation, you need to use someones work that is already in copyright. So how do you use it without committing copyright infringement? All you have to do is ask -- the worst they can say is no, right? But, if they do say no, there are several items in the public domain which may help you to finish your project without having to commit copyright infringement.

What is the public domain, and how does it relate to copyright infringement?

Material that is not copyrighted is considered in the public domain. You cannot commit copyright infringement on works in the public domain. These works include things that the copyright has expired on, or is not copyrightable -- such as government publications, jokes, titles, and ideas. Some creators (writers, musicians, artists, and more) deliberately put their work in the public domain, without ever obtaining copyright, by providing an affiliation with Creative Commons. Creative Commons allows people who create materials to forfeit some, or all, of their copyright rights and place their work either partially or fully in the public domain.

So, how do I ensure Im not committing copyright infringement?

First of all, if youre going to use someone elses material, you may want to check the public domain to see if something is suitable for use, instead of trying to use someone elses copyright. However, if you cant find something suitable (and you cant create something yourself), the next best thing (and your only legal course of action) is to find a piece that is in copyright, and contacting the copyright holder.

When you contact the copyright holder, make sure you tell them what you want to use their piece for -- whether its for your blog, podcast, or report -- and ask if you can use it. You may have to pay royalties, or an attribution in your piece, or a combination of both. The creator may also place many limitations on when and how you can use their material. Follow all these instructions they give you, and youll be free and clear to use their work as you want.

Once you have permission to use a copyrighted work, you need to make sure you stay within the agreed-upon boundaries. If you veer outside their agreed terms, you may open yourself up for a copyright infringement lawsuit, which can be nasty, costly, and time consuming. If youre in doubt, before contacting the copyright holder, contact a copyright lawyer to ensure youre following the law -- and protect yourself!

QUESTION: If you hear a great new band, and then download a song from MySpace, is that legal or not?

ANSWER: The events of copyright infringement are not only limited by Kazaa, Morpheus, or some other file sharing peer to peer (P2P) service. If you download a song -- no matter if youre on a website or a MySpace page -- and it isnt coming from the artist themselves, you may want to think about downloading it. Chances are, if its not coming from them, you cant have it -- unless it is under a Creative Commons License. Creative Commons gives the exact ways in which you can use the license -- and many times those are completely free and legal to download, so make sure you check if its under a CC License.

QUESTION: If Im writing a paper, or article, and I want to quote another website, can I?

ANSWER: First of all, did you know the minute you write or create something, you hold the copyright to it? ESPECIALLY if youre writing it online -- its very easy to track things on the Internet. So, if youre writing a blog, all the things youve written (no matter good or bad) are recorded, thanks to Archive.org, which lets you review last versions of your web pages.

Sometimes, we can use someone elses work in our own, and think were small and anonymous. That no one will notice by the time you get it down -- youre just borrowing it. Before you begin quoting anyones website -- from CNN to your local neighborhood hardware store -- you need to ask the person who holds the copyright if you can. Usually, theyll let you if you attribute to them. Depending who you talk to, youll either have to pay royalties or license rights to republish. If you dont ask before you quote, youre beginning the events of copyright infringement and you are opening yourself up for a lawsuit.
